A man has been charged in connection with the death of a cyclist on the A24 in Beare Green.
Robert
Worrall, aged 30, from Beare Green, died when he was involved in a
collision with a vehicle on the A24 in the early hours of Sunday 9
November 2014.
Amir
Hussain, 61, of Horsham Road, Dorking has been charged with failing to
stop at the scene of an accident and failing to report an accident. He
has been bailed to appear at Redhill Magistrates Court on May 15.

Appeal for information following Outwood fraud
East
Surrey CID is appealing for information following a fraud offence in
Outwood where a woman in her 80s was conned out of cash and jewellery.
The
victim received a telephone call at around 7pm on Thursday, 23 April
from a man claiming to be police officer from a London station. The
caller claimed that a man was in custody suspected of using the victim’s
credit cards and urged her to collect all her cash, bank cards and
valuables before putting them in a bag for a courier to collect.
Later
that evening a man arrived at the property in a taxi and collected the
bagged items before leaving the scene on foot. Officers believe the taxi
driver who bought the man to the victim’s property may not have
realised what was happening and are appealing for him to come forward.
If he would like to provide information anonymously this can be done
through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
The suspect is described as black, in his late teens and of slim build.

Jen Bilton, said: “Crimes of this nature where offenders target elderly
or vulnerable people are simply inexcusable and I would like to take
this opportunity to remind people to help us spread the message about
these offences.
“Unfortunately, fraudsters often purport to be
police officers and are therefore extremely convincing to their victims.
They often feel ashamed or embarrassed about falling for these scams
and they shouldn’t.
“I ask all victims to report such offences to Surrey Police as we need to catch these criminals.”
Officers
are releasing images of a number of items of jewellery which were taken
during the offence and they would like to hear from anyone who has seen
or been offered these items for sale. Enquiries are being carried out
at pawn brokers and other second hand shops where jewellery is
bought/sold as part of the investigation.
