Surrey Police: Appeal for witnesses following serious sexual assault in Brockham


Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a teenage girl was seriously sexually assaulted in Brockham  (Saturday 21 July).

The attack is believed to have taken place in an alleyway adjacent to Wheelers Lane in the village centre between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.
 The investigation is still in the early stages and officers are currently carrying out a number of enquiries to establish the full circumstances around the assault.

House-to-house enquiries are being carried out and officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood Team will be assisting detectives with the investigation.
Officers are appealing for anyone who was in the Brockham area yesterday evening and may have seen anything suspicious to come forward.
 Detective Inspector Karen Mizzi   said: “The victim is extremely distressed and is currently being supported by specialist officers.
“There is a village fair on in Brockham this weekend so there would have been a number of people in the area last night and I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity to come forward.
“I would like to reassure the local community that we are doing everything we can to catch whoever was responsible for this crime.”
