  1. I wish I had know about the discount when I booked my tickets as the show was certainly not worth more than £10, if that.

Before the show even started the audience were kept waiting in the main ticket area for about half an
    hour with no explaination!
When we were finally allowed in and had stood for the national anthem, a compare - who remained nameless - arose from the orchestra pit to the stage.
The stage set was all black, the piano was black and in the first half the two female singers were also dressed in black! The only bit of colour was the 'plastic' bottle on the small table beside the singer which appeared to be the same bottle for both singers, just that the table was moved from one side of the stage to the other.
After the interval, during which we were requested to empty our pockets of our small change into the buckets provided, the curtain went up to a little colour, namely Penelope Keith looking regal on her
throne. She was accompanied on the stage by a musician and a male contralto who were dressed, yes you have guessed it, all in black!!
The few pieces spoken by Ms Keith were amusing but didn't really live
up to the billing and the amateurishness of the evening as a whole - extremely disappointing.

  2. I am sorry Anonymous did not enjoy the evening. The male singer, by the way, was a counter tenor, not a contralto, and in my opinion was good. The lutist that accompanied him and also played some solo pieces was excellent.

In the first half I thought the young singer, Akexandra, was excellent. I could have happily listened to her for the rest of the evening.

I do agree that delay at the beginning was not good and the presentation had an amateurish air about it. But I at least thought there were more good parts than bad. But maybe £10 was a fair price.
