The footbridge over the A243 that connects Leatherhead to Ashtead is still of concern to residents of Ashtead & Leatherhead. At the Leatherhead end at the top of the steps there is no illumination. Crossing from Ashtead to Leatherhead at night is quite unsafe because of the transition from the bright motorway lights to nothing - the eyes cannot adjust. In addition to this the surface on the bridge is badly work with metalwork showing through. In wet or icy conditions these patches are really slippery. Someone is obviously aware of this because warning signs have been placed - the problemis that at night there is no proper lighting and the signs cannot be read. MVDC claim this is a matter for SCC. Can you bring this to the attention of the community gang if it still exist & communicates with the LRA?
