SAFETY DAY

This day is now coming very near; we invite everyone and anyone to the day,

FRIDAY 2ND JULY 2010,

in LEATHERHEAD TOWN

between 10am and 3pm.

The main aim is to give everybody the opportunity to have a link with people who are employed or volunteer to help us in our community.

There are opportunities for people to get advice and help, for people to use this as an educational opportunity and for people to be entertained.

- Buchanan and Curwen are providing security advice along with building supplies promoting their useful security products.

- The RSPCA will be available doing free 'chipping' for dogs and cats.

- It’s an opportunity to get to know your local Surrey Police Officers who will be helping you with advice on crime reduction and local policing issues.

- Surrey Fire and Rescue will be showing you their fire pump and other fire fighting equipment. They will be promoting FREE SMOKE ALARM FITTINGS.

- Surrey Ambulance will also be attending promoting SAVE A LIFE SCHEME.

- Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinaters will be on hand to talk to you about the scheme and how we all work together striving for a safer borough. They will also promote THE NO COLD CALLING ZONE.

- Speed Watch are demonstrating the radar gun and looking for new volunteers to set up speed watch sites in the area.

- There are people coming from FORCETEN demonstrating their disability scooters.

- Trading Standards will be available to give you advice about new “NO COLD CALLING ZONES” and rogue traders, informing you of your rights when having work done in you homes.

Other partners attending are licensing authorities with Pub Watch, Children’s Services, Youth Intervention Officers, Citizens Advice, Samaritans, Homeless Charities, Mole Valley District Council, The Help Shop, Victim Support, and The National Trust, Community alarms, Consumer Direct, The Mole Valley animal Wardens and many more people.

There will be more than 35 stalls on the site this year.
