Litter Pick

To say that the Litter Pick on 19th April was not well supported is an understatement. I know that regrettably the Spring Newsletter has been delayed and, therefore, the Litter Pick was not as widely publicized as we had hoped. It had, however, been announced at the open meeting earlier this month.
Three of us spent two hours endeavouring to make Leatherhead a little tidier and I realize that other commitments kept some away who would otherwise have joined us. I trust we in the new Residents' Association still retain the civic values of the old Leatherhead Society and want to make our town & its environment a better place.
See you on the next Litter Pick     :)

  1. Communications are a weak point of the LRA and so it was no surprise that this event was poorly attended. Do members (& non-members) actually know what the LRA is currently involved with? I doubt it.

An LRA member recently said that they would not bother renewing their membership because they did not get value for money. Pretty sad really because the fee is only £2.

  2. It was indeed envisage when the date for the Litter Pick was chosen that the Spring Newsletter would be in members' hands before Easter. It is regrettable that the Newsletter still has not appeared.

However, as I wrote the Litter Pick was publicized at the March open meeting and was known to some other members so, although I was not expecting crowds, I did quite frankly expect more than three!

There are, of course, members who do know what the LRA is currently involved with; but it relies too much on the monthly open meeting to the exclusion of other forms of communication.
